comes to Cardiff on Saturday, 12th May bringing the dazzling colour and vibrant sounds of Colombia’s famous Carnaval de Barranquilla to the Capital. This is a dance event like no other brought to you by Colombian dancer, choreographer and Zumba teacher – Yonier Garcia.
Four hours of scorching Latin-inspired dance led by Yonier featuring some of his dance crew, students – and YOU!
This is an event for people who love to dance and anyone who has ever longed to take to the floor and learn some great moves. You don’t even need a partner!
Carnaval Latino includes a 2-hour Dance-a-Thon where you can dance to some of Yonier’s most exciting choreography based on his own unique blend of Latin, hip hop, reggaeton and street dance styles. Don’t worry if you haven’t danced before – Yoni is a wonderful teacher and you will be dancing along with the crowd in no time!
Yonier is supported by Cardiff Zumba teacher Irene Davies who will help him to raise the temperature to fever pitch with some sizzling Zumba routines !
You can then take a breather and watch some spectacular performances from Yoni’s crew and prepare to be dazzled by Wales’s first La Hora Loca (crazy hour) where you get to join the dancers in this wonderful South American celebration of dance.
Everyone hits the floor for the final part of the evening for the Carnaval Latino Dance Party!!! Have fun, enjoy a drink, show off your new moves and just celebrate being a dancer!

We are raising money for Shakira’s charity the Barefoot Foundation (or Pies Descalzos Foundation) to make education available to all the children of Colombia.
International pop artist Shakira is Colombia’s most famous ambassador and she has dedicated her life to helping children living in poverty. We’ve chosen this charity because Yonier is also Colombian. He has seen at first-hand how children’s lives in his own country have been devastated by civil war, drug crime and poverty.
